Det nærmar seg val til ulike råd og styrer ved Det psykologiske fakultet. Stipendiatar er ei viktig gruppe på fakultetet og vi kan og skal ha ei viktig stemme i saker som kontinuerleg blir tatt opp og handsama på ulike nivå ved fakultetet. Kvart år er det val av gruppe B-representantar. Dette er midlertidig tilsette ved fakultetet, og her høyrer stipendiatar til, både internt og eksternt finansierte. Val til instituttråd og fakultetsstyre står på trappene og vi må mobilisere stipendiatgruppa slik at vi sikrar den representasjonen vi vil ha!

Kunne du tenkje deg å sitje i instituttrådet ved instituttet ditt eller kanskje i fakultetsstyret? Eller kanskje veit du om nokon som kunne eigna seg. Torsdag 27.mars arrangerte psykSTIP Stipendiatdag for alle stipendiatar ved Det psykologiske fakultet. Vi var i hyggelege omgivnader på Hanne på Høyden og fekk nyttig og inspirerande informasjon frå fleire innleggshaldarar.

psykSTIP har fått offisielle vedtekter!

Ny PhD-forskift på fakultetet  – revidert opplæringsplan

Helen Green og Arild Mellesdal informerte om det nye PhD-reglementet ved UiB som blei vedteke i juni 2013, samt endringane dette medfører i PhD-forskrifta ved Det psykologiske fakultet. Plagiarism – so what?

Ephorus – sjekk ditt eige arbeid for plagiat!

Det psykologiske fakultet skal innføre bruk av programmet Ephorus som hjelp for stipendiatar i prosessen med å evaluere eige arbeid for plagiat. Ephorus er eit tekstgjenkjenningsverkty som avdekker tekstoverlapp med andre kjelder, og det er tenkt at det skal takast i bruk som del av kappeskrivinga til stipendiatar. Meir informasjon om når og korleis dette skal takast i bruk kjem etterkvart.

Thursday March 27th, psykSTIP held a gathering for all PhD candidates at the faculty of psychology. We were in nice surroundings at the localities of Hanne på Høyden, and received useful and inspiring information from several speakers.

psykSTIP now has oficial statutes!

Camilla Løvvik gave us an introduction to the purpose and objectives of psykSTIP, as well as previous, current and future activities in the committee. In addition we accepted the oficial statutes of the committee. These are unfortunately only avaible in English at the moment, but will be translated in the near future. New PhD-regulation at the Faculty  – revised researcher education plan

Helen Green and Arild Mellesdal informed about the new PhD-regulations at UiB that was passed in June 2013, as well as the changes this entails in the PhD regulations of the Faculty of Psychology. Plagiarism – so what?

The program also had a particular focus on plagiarism. Ole Bjørn Rekdal from Bergen University College gave an inspiring presentation on types of plagiarism and shared his own experiences with being plagiarised. Ephorus – check your own work for plagiarism!

Det Faculty of Psychology are about to introduce the software Ephorus as a helping tool for PhD candiadates in their process of evaluating own work for plagiarism. Ephorus compares the text with other texts available to assess amount of overlap. THe aim is that it will be used by PhD candidates in the process of writing the synopsis. The focus is on guiding candidates to writing a better text and not intended as a control tool to catch “cheaters”. More information about how it will be implemented will be available in the near future.

PsykSTIP works to promote the interests and views of both internal and external PhD candidates at the Faculty of Psychology. At this seminar, you will receive information about psykSTIP and take part in passing the committee’s statutes. Furthermore, we have invited lecturers who will inform you about several topics relevant for PhD candidates (see program below).

The seminar will take place at Hanne på Høyden, and includes lunch and coffee. In the evening there will be a social gathering. You can join for parts of the day, or the full package. It will be both informative and sociable.
